About Examinations
I don’t remember how many examinations I’ve taken since I began my schooling. To be honest, I dislike examinations intensely. I believe that virtually no student enjoys facing these assessments.
Many people claim that examinations are a teacher’s magic weapon, suggesting that educators deliberately impose them on students. However, I hold a different perspective. Most teachers once experienced the same academic pressures as us. They understand the stress and challenges of examinations firsthand. In fact, the more tests we encounter, the heavier the burden becomes for both students and teachers.
The issue stems from our educational system. The rigid entrance examination structure creates unnecessary competition, forcing schools to conduct excessive testing. If our education system eliminated these high-stakes assessments and allowed students to progress based on holistic development rather than scores, the frequency of examinations would significantly decrease.
Reforming our entrance system is essential for creating a healthier educational environment. By reducing the emphasis on standardized tests, we can alleviate academic stress and foster a more balanced approach to learning. Only through such systemic changes can we truly minimize the negative impact of examinations and create a more joyful educational experience for all students.
